What is it?

SMS4Parking™ is the first fully integrated parking management system enabling municipalities and parking operators to introduce mobile phone and other innovative payment means to their existing parking systems.

SMS4Parking™  is a state of the art software solution for automated on-line management and operation of a parking service. On-line functions allow both the tracking and the billing of parking either through SMS or parking-cards, the control of payment via PDA devices, internal control of parking attendants work (supervision), communication with the DMV/Police etc. All the data in the system is centralized and integrated, and the reports provided by the system are timely and error free.

SMS4Parking™ provides the users with the point of sale system for parking services at each user’s cell phone. All charges for parking services are available 24/7. Parking charges can be flexible (multiple pricing for different time periods or special events) and the whole city can be divided into different parking zones with different business models (i.e. downtown can have one or two hours maximum parking restrictions, surcharge for certain streets or certain time periods. This will also increase a turnaround of each parking space and also provide for the full efficiency

Who is it meant for?

SMS4Parking™ is aimed at private car drivers as well as enterprises with fleets of automobiles and employees using them for work tasks. In co-operation with mobile operators SMS4Parking™ can be offered as an open system.

How does it function?

If the user wants to pay for the parking via a cellular phone all he/she has to do is send an SMS to a certain (4-7 digit number) along with the car plate’s identification in the body of the SMS message. Different parking zones will have different corresponding numbers (if so desired by the city) or all the parking fees can be uniform and charged to one SMS number. In the matter of few seconds the user will receive a message confirming the payment and the duration of the paid parking time with the following information: parking zone, transaction number, car registration number, the exact expiration of the paid parking time and the total price charged. Certain time before the paid parking time is about to expire SMS4Parking™ will send a message to the user certain time before the paid time is about to expire (usually 5-15minutes before) providing for an option to pay for another time period (if allowed by the pre-programmed business process)..

The user may simultaneously pay for parking in many different parking zones and/or for more than one vehicle (parking which has been paid for previously will not be cancelled by subsequent payments). Mobile parking payment is available 24 hours a day. It is charged according to the prescribed times in which payment collection must be made. The 24-hour a day availability of m-payment also carries the possibility of paying for the first hour of parking for the following working day, even if executed outside working hours.
